Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Celebrates 30 Years of Excellence in Education

Thirty Years of Preparing Students for College, Careers, and Leadership

The Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center (AAEC) proudly celebrates 30 years of providing exceptional educational opportunities for Arizona students. Since opening its first campus in 1996, AAEC has grown into a statewide network of college-preparatory charter high schools dedicated to academic excellence, career and technical education, and developing the next generation of leaders.

Over the past three decades, AAEC has remained committed to its mission of preparing students for success in higher education, the workforce, and their communities by combining rigorous academics with hands-on career training and leadership development.

As student enrollment and community interest continued to grow, AAEC expanded across Arizona, opening additional campuses to serve more families:

  • South Mountain Campus – July 1997
  • Paradise Valley Campus – July 1999
  • Red Mountain Campus – July 2005
  • Estrella Mountain Campus – August 2010
  • Prescott Valley Campus – January 2011
  • Mesa Campus – July 2017

Each campus has become an integral part of its local community while maintaining the educational values that have defined AAEC for the past 30 years. Students benefit from small school environments, individualized instruction, concurrent college enrollment opportunities, and  state and nationally recognized Career and Technical Education (CTE) Agriscience program, including Agriscience, Veterinary Science, Agribusiness, and Equine career pathways.

AAEC's commitment extends beyond academics. Students are encouraged to participate in leadership organizations, community service, Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs, internships, and industry certifications that prepare them for careers in agribusiness, science, business, and health-related professions.

Throughout its history, AAEC has proudly graduated thousands of students who have continued their education at colleges and universities, entered military service, or begun successful careers throughout Arizona and across the nation. The school's emphasis on academic achievement, responsibility, and leadership has created generations of alumni making positive contributions in their communities.

As AAEC celebrates this significant milestone, the district recognizes the dedicated teachers, staff, administrators, governing board members, parents, community partners, and students whose commitment has made the past three decades possible.

"Celebrating 30 years is more than recognizing our history—it is celebrating the people who have built a culture of excellence and opportunity for our students," said AAEC leadership. "Our success has always been driven by outstanding educators, supportive families, community partnerships, and students who strive to achieve their goals. We look forward to continuing this tradition for generations to come."

As AAEC enters its fourth decade, the district remains focused on innovation, expanding educational opportunities, strengthening career pathways, and preparing students to become leaders in an ever-changing world.
