Career Pathways
Every AAEC student picks a pathway, which is a set of high school and college courses planned around what they want to do after graduation. Maybe your child wants to design buildings, care for animals, start a business, or work in a science lab. There's a pathway for each of those, and it starts earning real college credit now, while they're still in high school. Students can choose from fields like engineering, veterinary science, biosciences, business, agriscience, and equine science, and find the one that fits them.
- Engineering - For students who like to build, design, and solve problems. Coursework can lead toward engineering, computer science, and technology degrees.
- Veterinary Science - For future veterinarians, vet techs, and animal-health professionals. Combines science coursework with hands-on, animal-focused learning.
- Equine Science - For students drawn to the horse industry — from animal care to equine business. One of AAEC’s signature pathways.
- Agriculture & AgScience - For students interested in agribusiness, plant and animal science, and the food systems that feed Arizona and beyond.
- Service Dog Training - A distinctive, hands-on pathway where students train service dogs while learning animal behavior and care.
How Pathways Work
Every pathway is a planned sequence of high school and college courses, mapped with an advisor to fit a student’s goals. Students can explore, then commit — and because credits don’t expire at graduation, a pathway here becomes a real head start on a degree or career.
